General Questions

How often should I have my house washed?

We recommend cleaning annually to keep the property in top notch shape.

How long does power washing take?

Timing is based on the size of the job but for a standard house wash it takes approximately 2 hours from start to finish.

Can a quote be provided over the phone?

We do have the ability to provide a quote over the phone. Our team gathers all necessary information during the phone call and we can use a satellite imagery application to get all necessary measurements; pricing is based on square foot.

Are the Detergents safe for plants and animals?

Our detergents are 100% biodegradable; they break down into salt and water. Our team uses extreme caution to ensure the detergents are properly contained to avoid any issues with plant life around the property. Animals can be let out into the yard after the technician has completed the service.

I have a Well for water. Is Mr. Clean able to use my water supply?

The Well needs to yield at least 5GPM in order for us to use your water supply. If it does not yield 5GPM we have options for providing water.

If I do not have a working spigot, can Mr. Clean provide all the water needed to complete the job?

Yes, we have the ability to haul the water to site for any size job.

Does Mr. Clean send appointment reminders?

Yes the day before the cleaning we send an appointment reminder with the two hour arrival window as well as preparation instructions and payment options.

Is Mr. Clean Power Washing a franchise?

No, we are not a franchise we are a family owned and operated business and have been serving the Greater Baltimore area since 2014.

Day of Service questions:

Do I need to be home for the service?

You do not need to be home for the cleaning, although it is preferred so that the technician can do a walk around after the job is complete to ensure everything is perfect!

Do I need to remove window screens?

You do not need to remove window screens if you don’t want to. However, it is a good idea so that any bugs or other debris that are caught on the sill can be rinsed away. We utilize a soft wash process so there will be no damage to the screens during the washing process.

Are windows cleaned during the process or is that a separate service?

Windows are soaped and rinsed during the house wash process; however, we do not squeegee or hand wipe sills or tracks.

What is soft washing?

Soft washing is a low-pressure technique using detergents to safely remove mold, mildew, and algae from the exterior of the home or building without causing harm to the surface being cleaned.

What is included in a standard house wash?

A standard house wash includes the exterior of the gutter, fascia, soffit, and siding to remove mold, mildew, and algae.

Will all the green algae come off the siding with the soft wash process?

Yes, the detergents ensure 100% kill ratio on all organic growth. After the technician is done the cleaning all the mold, mildew, and algae we will be completely removed.

What are the dark stains on my roof shingles?

The dark stains are a type of algae infestation called Gloeocapsa Magma. The algae eats away at the granules on the shingles and can lead to premature replacement so it is important to get your roof treated if you start seeing these stains. Our Soft Wash Roof Cleaning treatment completely kills the infestation; after the cleaning is complete all the dark stains will be gone immediately. If you have any moss patches or lichen growth it will turn a white/brown color to signify that its dead and then naturally release itself from the granules on the shingles and disintegrate over time. This is the only safe method of cleaning recommended my shingle manufacturers.
